HUMANS OF TYSON 2021
Mosquito Disease/Ecology
The Mosquito team investigates how variables such as mosquito parasite infection rates are affected by ecological interactions involving mosquitoes. The team has two ongoing projects. Their first project investigates the effects of the urban soundscape on mosquito wing beat frequency and morphology, while their second looks at how the threat of predation interacts with parasite infection in mosquito larvae to affect adult mosquito fecundity. Through this research, the team hopes to provide valuable input to scientific understanding of mosquito disease transmission, which is crucial for addressing outbreaks of mosquito-related diseases.
