For the past six years, writers have been tasked with interviewing and writing profiles of each community member. Our hope is that those profiles take you behind the scenes at our environmental field station to meet the people and teams who explore the life that dwells here, both present and past.
This seventh Humans of Tyson field season of 2024, started with the deeply-felt loss of our long-time friend and colleague Stan Braude, WashU Teaching Professor of the Practice of biology and environmental studies. It was Stan’s joy to walk the hills, talk about the trees, delight in the animals, the caves, the creeks, the changes of seasons, and especially, to spend time with and teach students how to love this place as much as he did.
This year’s Humans of Tyson is dedicated to Professor Stan Braude. Long may we be inspired by his infectious love of the natural world!
Welcome to Humans of Tyson 2024!
